Hilary Lorenz is a Brooklyn, NY, and Abiquiu, NM-based artist. She makes large-scale printed and cut paper installations that revolve around her physical exploration and relationship with the natural world. Lorenz travels extensively to create ambitious local and international projects that draw from her experience and infatuation with frontier living.

Lorenz is a Fulbright Scholar and NEA Mid-Atlantic Fellow. Her artwork has been reviewed in NY Times, LA Times, Art in America, and Art on Paper. She received her MA and MFA from the University of Iowa in Printmaking and Intermedia. She was a tenured professor of visual arts at Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY. Still, She quit in 2021 to follow her dream of moving to NM and dedicating her time to building communities through making art.
